Exótico is a blend of traceable small lots, containing coffees from small producers in the regions of Antioquia, Huila, and Cauca. The specific origin of individual lots changes depending on the harvest and availability, but their processing remains consistent. Whether the coffee comes from the fresh mountains of Antioquia, the highlands of Huila, or the fertile soil of Cauca, you can always expect the same meticulous attention to detail.
Contributing farms are located at altitudes between 1750 and 2150 meters above sea level and grow varieties such as Castillo, Pink Bourbon, Caturra, Colombia, and Typica.
The group lot Exótico consistently achieves a quality score of 84 points. To achieve this quality, producers carefully select only ripe cherries, which are first fermented for 24 hours and then for another 36-72 hours after pulping. The coffee is then washed and usually dried on concrete patios.
